Fred Hodges - Vice President
Fred Hodges, currently serving as a Program Manager for Events and Community Partnership for the Volunteer Resource Center at the University of Colorado, Boulder, holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master's degree in college counseling from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Having once served as the director of the Office of Multicultural Student Services at Robert Morris University outside of Pittsburgh, Pa., Fred’s passion lies in programs that impact diverse populations and promote student development. Throughout his career, Fred has demonstrated a commitment to being a servant leader while making a positive difference in people’s lives. His passion and motivational energy exemplify the concept of authentic leadership! Undoubtedly, Fred’s vision of impacting one person at a time, touching the hearts of others.

China Scoggins - Social Media Chair
China Scroggins, premier Brand & Marketing Strategist is a native of Denver and Texas Southern University alumna, is the Owner & CEO of ContentMint LLC. While earning her degree in Marketing, China fell in love with content creation and the ability to drive lucrative results through targeted presentation and analytics. She used that love, combined with her interest in the fashion industry, to begin her career in Ecommerce Operations. In her service efforts, China serves as the Chair of Mentors & Volunteers for Girls With Gifts Inc, a nonprofit that reaches back to pull forward girls interested in the arts and entertainment field. China is the Founder of Even Me Inc- a nonprofit providing mentorship and resources to children of parental addictions and disabilities; a cause she shares personally and has begun growing its reach and impact in the Denver communities of color- evenmeinc.org. Currently, she is a proudly active member of the Urban League Young Professionals of Denver. Though she feels extremely fortunate to have gained so much in her travels building Ecommerce
infrastructures, she is most enthused to be entrenched in using her platform to power the uplifting and transformation of youth in the communities she serves.

Raikeis Timm - Social Media
Raikeis Timm serves as the Social Media Chair for the Urban League Young Professionals, Denver chapter, and leads a mentor circle for at-risk youth in the juvenile justice system, for Driven by Our Ambitions (DBOA) a local community nonprofit. Serving as a specialist for The Center for Trauma & Resilience, Keis also teaches for Fit & Nu fitness studio and the CHIC organization, a local Denver women lead after school program.
Raikeis is an experienced and passionate certified Yoga Instructor with 400-hours of training, specializing in in traditional yoga and trauma informed and grief therapy yoga.
She started her yoga business, Charismatic Movement, in 2019. The mission is to practice yoga in BIPOC businesses, organizations and communities, providing safe spaces to experience healing together with our community.
Raikeis and Charismatic Movement have offered yoga to multiple school districts, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals in Colorado and throughout the United States, such as Cherry Creek high school football team, The Crowley Foundation, Black Educators Connect, Black Love Mural Festival, Trap Fitness, WeWork We of Color, Building Bridges, Oracle, Comcast Western Division, National Center of Victims of Crime, Colorado Public Defenders, Manifest House, and Curls on the Block.
Currently, Charismatic Movement offers classes each Sunday morning, at 10:30 AM, in City Park, for the summer Yoga in the Park series.

Kara Powell - Political Action Chair
Kara Powell joined Urban League Young Professionals of Metro Denver as Social Media Chair in 2019 and brings significant experience in political campaign organization, community outreach, and digital content creation.
A Denver native, Kara worked to mobilize a groundswell of volunteers in Northeast Denver to elect the country’s first openly gay Governor to office in 2018. After campaigning for local down ballot candidates at home, then in Houston, TX, she returned to the Mile High City where she currently serves the people of Colorado as Community Engagement Coordinator and Acting Speechwriter in the Office of Governor Jared Polis.
As incoming Political Chair, Kara looks forward to working with Denver’s communities of young, gifted, and Black professionals to increase awareness around social issues that impact us most and upholding DULYP’s commitment to breaking down barriers to opportunity.
